Nilam Devi

Head – Communications

Nilam Devi is the widow of Shaheed Lance Naik Arun Kumar Singh, who served with 81 Field Regiment and 36 Rashtriya Rifles before making the supreme sacrifice in the service of the nation on 20 November 1999. For more than twenty-five years, she has exemplified the courage, resilience, and dignity that define India’s Veer Naris. Her understanding of the challenges faced by military widows is not shaped by observation, but by lived experience.

At the Centre of Excellence for the Bravehearts (CoEB), Nilam serves as the authentic voice of the Veer Nari community, ensuring that CoEB’s communication, research, advocacy, and livelihood initiatives remain rooted in the realities of those who continue to bear the enduring cost of military sacrifice. Her perspective lends credibility, empathy, and purpose to CoEB’s mission, ensuring that the voices of India’s war widows help shape meaningful and lasting change.
