Havildar Sanjeev Kumar (Retd.) is a decorated Indian Army veteran who served the nation for 25 years, including more than two decades after losing both legs above the knee in a Battle Casualty during Operation Parakram in 2002. Refusing to let his injuries define him, he continued serving with distinction on prosthetic limbs, rising to the rank of Havildar before retiring in 2024. His remarkable journey embodies extraordinary resilience, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to service.


At the Centre of Excellence for the Bravehearts (CoEB), he leads the Liaisoning & Outreach vertical while bringing the invaluable perspective of a severely disabled soldier. His lived experience enables CoEB to identify the most pressing challenges faced by disabled veterans, strengthen stakeholder engagement, inform research with authentic field insights, and ensure that every programme remains firmly grounded in the real needs of the Braveheart community.
